Abdi Nageeye wins marathon for the second time

In 2022, Nageeye also participated in the Marathon in Rotterdam. But this year he ran no less than 13 seconds faster than two years ago. With this he not only broke the Dutch record, but also his personal record.

Finish

From the start, Nageeye was at the front with three other athletes: Amedework Walelegn, Birhanu Legese and Kenneth Kipkemoi. When the athletes only had a few kilometers to go, Nageeye and Walelegn started running faster and faster. Ultimately, Nageeye finished earlier.

Olympic Marathon

This summer Nageeye will run the Olympic Marathon in Paris. Three years ago he won a silver medal in Tokyo. He hopes for that again this year.

Marathon

If you are going to run a marathon, you have to train very well in running. It consists of 42.195 kilometers. ‘Ordinary’ marathon runners (i.e. not as fast as Nageeye) usually run the marathon within 4 hours on average. But that’s only if they run 6.5 miles per hour. Then you go just as fast as when you cycle gently.
