I wrote – Mona Al-Muji:
Muhammad Shabana, the nephew of “The Brown Nightingale” Abdel Halim Hafez, expressed his dissatisfaction with the experience of using his uncle’s voice through artificial intelligence technology, especially since it did not come out in a manner worthy of the name of the late star.
He said in a special statement to “Masrawy”: “I listened to an experiment that was an audio clip that was prepared with artificial intelligence, taking advantage of the name Halim, and came out with a picture of cacophony, and her condition is very difficult.”
Shabana stressed that no one has the right to approach Halim’s voice, announcing his rejection of the way the experiment came out, continuing, “The voice, image, and name of Abdel Halim Hafez belong to his family, and no party has the right to exploit it.”
Under the title “Halim sings Medley for the best of what Amr Diab sang,” the pioneers of social networking sites shared audio clips using artificial intelligence technology.
Muhammad Shabana published a statement, to clarify the position of the Nightingale’s heirs, stating: “During the past days, I followed some attempts to use my uncle Abdul Halim’s voice with artificial intelligence technology, and superimpose it on modern songs, and it was a failed and very bad experience.”
And he continued: “We will take legal measures against the perpetrator, because this is a distortion of the history and message of my uncle, the artist Abdel Halim Hafez, and then any person, entity or company that will do this act will be subject to legal accountability, and we will take all deterrent measures of law regarding it, as Abdel Halim’s vote belongs exclusively to his family.”
Muhammad added: “Everyone should be careful not to circulate these offensive clips, and if the family wants to use this technology one day, it will be of the highest quality, craftsmanship and technology for the enjoyment of the fans of the Brown Nightingale, and it will be with the satisfaction of its fans and lovers if it asks us.. God May success be granted.”
