EL NUEVO DIARIO, Santiago.- The Santiago Basketball Association (Abasaca), chaired by José Luís Aracena, positively values the dedication of the Spring Camp, which will be held this Saturday by the Dominican Basketball Federation (Fedombal), headed by its president Rafael Uribe, in New York City with young basketball promises, from 6:30 pm to 9:30 pm in New Jersey, which will have a special dedication to the member of “Las Leyendas del Basketball ”and a great pride of Santiago and the country, Mauricio Espinal.
Through this statement, Aracena congratulates the Fedombal executive committee, the technicians of the minor categories project for taking into account a valuable basketball icon, such as Mauricio Espinal, to dedicate this important event to him, which plans to bring together future stars in said discipline.
The activity will host boys and girls born between 2004 and 2007 where they can show their basketball skills.
At the Spring Camp, the glory of Dominican basketball Mauricio Espinal will be recognized, for his great contributions and career that made him one of the great idols of the sport of the hoop and the ball both throughout the national territory, highlighting his outstanding participation in both Santiago as in the National District.
He also had an outstanding job at the selection level, which made him one of the greats of all time.
The Spring Camp, which heads the Fedombal, will also have another glory of Dominican basketball in the person of José (Maíta) Mercedes, director of operations of the Federation, as well as the coach of the Dominican team, Melvyn López.
The Dominican Basketball Federation has been carrying out this type of activity with the purpose of recruiting the dispersed Dominican talent at an international level, both in the American and European continents.
