Whether that is a reason to cheer remains to be seen. Developer Hasan Kahraman shared this information in a recent interview with IGN. It means that anyone who bought The Haunting: Blood Water Curse when the game was in early access can claim Abandoned for free.
In the same interview, of course, he also talks about the controversy surrounding his studio and Hideo Kojima, because today there are still people who actually believe that Abandoned is a Kojima game. Less and less than in the beginning, because most people realize that Abandoned and Kojima have nothing to do with each other. However, Hasan is disappointed that so many people are angry with him now:

And the thing is that they’re calling me or Blue Box a scammer. That is the biggest thing that, even today, is still bothering me.

Gamers will probably be willing to give Abandoned a shot when it comes out, but we’d like to see a little more than what we’ve seen so far!
