BLUE BOX Game Studio, developer of the horror game Abandoned, has promised to show more of the game in the first quarter of 2022. The app Realtime Experience, which was a fiasco at launch, should also be updated with a new look and playable demo.
The information was published on the studio’s blog. According to the text, the tech demo will demonstrate “the technology behind Abandoned in real-time, featuring visuals and audio, as well as the use of tactile feedback from the DualSense control, which add a new layer to the horror experience.” A notification should appear in the system’s PS5 when the update is ready.
On Twitter, BLUE BOX posted an image that shows the eye of an unknown character:

Some users have come across a similar statement on the console itself, along with an image of a mysterious woman.

“We want to offer something that deserves and is worth keeping an eye on”, says the company. They point out that they recognize the mistakes of the publicity campaign for Abandoned and claim they don’t want to “make the same mistakes again”.
“This was all just a huge learning curve for us. We want to offer a game that you can enjoy.”
For those who don’t remember, they promised to release an unreleased trailer for Abandoned inside an app for PS5. The problem is that, after many delays due to “technical problems”, the video in question was just a five-second teaser already posted on Twitter.

Studio CEO asks people to calm down
After months of silence, BLUE BOX CEO and founder Hasan Kahraman has once again asked players to be patient. He wrote on his personal Twitter profile that “people need to calm down” and that “the toxicity is creating a lot of pressure and stress”.
Ppl really need to calm down.. the toxicty is really creating a lot of pressure and stress. I get it you are pissed, but we’re working hard to deliver something you can enjoy. And that takes time. Sorry but this had to be said..

He also recalled that his company is an independent studio; therefore, anyone waiting for a triple-A game (that is, a game with a big budget), needs to revise their expectations.
And yes I and BLUE BOX are indie and you should not expect a AAA game. Set your expectations. Yes we want to do our own way of things and sure we didn’t do it wel but we are working on it.

Despite so much confusion and frustration involving Abandoned, we still know very little details about the game. Described as a “first-person cinematic survival and horror shooter”, the game will set “in a highly detailed open world environment, favoring a realistic approach to survival”.
“Jason Longfield wakes up in a strange forest. Abandoned and without remembering how he got there, Jason soon discovers that he was kidnapped and taken there for an obscure purpose. Fighting for his survival, his main objective is to escape.”
