YouTube channel Forgotten Buildings discovered some abandoned cars in a bankrupt Saab dealership. The cars had been there, motionless, since 2011, Carscoops.com writes.
Urban explorers from YouTube channel Forgotten Buildings have uncovered a collection of Saab vehicles in an abandoned dealership in France. The building has been closed for more than a decade.
Part of a larger business park located near a highway, the place was probably a source of profit for its owners, and through its large glass windows three vehicles can be seen inside the showroom.
The cars, a 9-5 and two 9-3s, weren’t exactly new, but one of them had paperwork inside that suggested it had just 59,608 miles (95,930 km) on it. It is still a low number of kilometers for a vehicle that was put on the road for the first time in 2001.
An abandoned Saab dealership discovered with over 20 cars left to rust
Unfortunately, given the condition of the cars, these urban explorers weren’t the first to enter the showroom, and the wheels of two of the cars had already been stolen by the time this video was shot. In addition, windows were broken and other acts of vandalism were committed.
The showroom was not the only area where cars were stored. The service contained about 20 vehicles, mostly Saabs, but also a few French cars, such as Peugeots and a Renault.
It is not known exactly why all these vehicles were abandoned, but it is possible that with the death of one of the brothers who owned the dealership, the remaining owner simply gave up on the business.
Although all the cars are covered in dust and most of them have been vandalized, it would still be interesting to see if any of them are functional and could be put back on the road again.
