Abandoned officials crowded, bankruptcy threatened by Twitter

Jakarta

Elon Musk as new boss on Twitter said the social media platform would go bankrupt. Quoted from Reuters, he said Twitter’s financial condition was in precarious shape.

In his first email to the entire company, Elon Musk said Twitter won’t be able to survive economic pressures in the future. This can happen if Twitter fails to run a subscription plan that could generate additional revenue.

Chief Privacy Officer Damien Kieran and Chief Compliance Officer Marianne Fogarty are stepping down from Twitter. However, the head of the advertising division, Robin Wheeler, announced that he would remain with the company. “I’m still here,” Wheeler tweeted.

The US Federal Trade Commission is currently overseeing Twitter. The reason is that resignations made by Twitter executives have the potential to violate the rules that have been set.

Elon Musk’s legal authority, Alex Spiro, explained to officials whether Twitter will still comply with the rules in force. He said that part of him met with the FTC and had a dialogue to find a way out.

Elon Musk in his first meeting with Twitter employees said that the company could lose billions of US dollars next year. Furthermore, Elon Musk also announced that there is no longer a remote work system. So these employees have to go to the office at least 40 hours a week.

Until the publication of this news, Twitter, Musk and Spiro have not provided any comment. When logging into Twitter, he often mentions the leak. Twitter is also said to be losing more than $4 million a day.

This is because many advertisers flee when their companies take over. Currently, Twitter has $13 billion in debt and $1.2 billion in interest.
