“The presence of a heavy weapon, the presence of surveillance or rather inside information and all this suggests that the perpetrators had a plan of action. It would not be surprising if this car was part of that plan,” Yordanov said.
The crime in Blagoevgrad can be compared to the collection robbery in the capital’s mall on November 15 last year, says the Center for the Study of Democracy. And they find loopholes in the actions of the perpetrators now.
“There were quite a few professional elements there because the recovery car was on both sides with cars pinned down, it was quite a really well done robbery. Normally professionals don’t shoot people and there aren’t such serious incidents as we have now,” said the chief expert at the Research Center of democracy Tihomir Bezlov.
The prosecutor’s office is investigating a “particularly large-scale” robbery. More information is expected from the prosecution tomorrow.
