Abandoned developers are responding to end-of-development speculation »Vortex

Update: On the growing speculation that the development of Abandoned was over and the game for sure will not see the light of day, following yesterday’s information, the developers from Blue Box Game Studios came forward and denied these speculations in a short statement on Twitter. “Dear community, you have been bombarding us lately with requests and questions about the state of development of Abandoned. In light of the latest speculation that Abandoned has been canceled, we call this speculation false, ”the developers say. They confirmed that they continue to work on being able to fully unveil the game through the Realtime Experience app on PlayStation 5, through an upcoming playable prologue. “We originally planned it for the first quarter of 2022, but unfortunately we don’t have everything ready yet by underestimating our development plan,” explains Blue Box Game Studios. At the end of their message, they apologize to all players, express their understanding of their frustration, but confirm that they will need some extra time before the game is stable and ready for the planned demonstration.

Original report from March 31, 2022: We published the latest news about the game Abandoned by the developers from Blue Box Game Studios on Vortex exactly two months ago. Studio then claimedthat she fell victim to a hacking attack, after which she lost access to her YouTube and warned players not to respond to emails with a possible pre-order for the game. Now comes the next – no less strange information – regarding the Abandoned Twitter account for a change. As youtuber Lance McDonald noticed, the developers from Blue Box apparently started deleting some older tweets that brought details about the future presentation of Abandoned, including the promised demo last December.

According to McDonald, in addition to information about the demo, the mention of the original size and content of the only sample, which players waited for the release in the accompanying application directly on the PlayStation, was much longer than the Blue Box originally promised. We will not deal with the case of the postponed teaser for the second time – we discussed it in detail in previous articles – however, in a tweet that has been deleted today, the developers explained that the demo is longer, but only waiting for a small fix, which Blue Box never delivered. “A lot of people don’t understand why PlayStation supports this game. But all indie studios have been given a certain amount of marketing opportunities that Blue Box has used at once to entice the teaser and now [aktivity] ”adds McDonald.

On the other hand, it should be added that although there are not many messages on Twitter’s Blue Box now, it is not an attempt to erase all traces and delete Abandoned from the Internet, as it erroneously appears in some articles or fan comments. The developers report on the game in the main label, leaving publicly available statements by the studio’s founder Hasan Kahraman and explanations of what Abandoned should be when the game comes out. What’s more, a few days ago, the administrator of the twitter account answered at the request of one of the fans of what happened to the game, they just need a little more time to ensure that Abandoned comes out in adequate condition. But that still doesn’t mean he’s in the game all okay, especially since we can add Kahraman’s current argument with a musician who was supposed to take part in one of the game’s soundtracks.

It was at the instigation of Lance McDonald’s report that a German musician and audio designer spoke Fastexwho claimed to have worked with his band on one of the songs to be heard in Abandoned. “We have exchanged many e-mails. The last answer I got through LinkedIn was – It’s chaotic, it was supposed to come out in March, you have a PlayStation 5, “the musician wrote a few hours ago. He added that he had been working on the song with his band for 50-60 hours since last August, each time he reportedly received a message in which people from the Blue Box apologized for the delay, but just against the promise that the game would appear in the game and possibly in trailer, Fastex continued to work. However, the collaboration is over, which was confirmed a short time ago by Hasan Kahraman, who went publicly to Fastex and questioned what the musician was saying.

“We never signed a contract, it was never official. You asked us and I told you that we might use it, which didn’t happen, “says Kahraman. “Don’t tell people you worked on the soundtrack when you and I know that’s not true.” he then told the musician. However, he responded in the sense that he had a communication in which Blue Box asked him to adjust, which the musician’s colleague immediately worked on. “No, you never told us you wouldn’t use music. And yes, we worked on it. It’s not really a problem not to use it, but why didn’t you ever tell me? ” asked with Fastex and bumping into what makes the Blue Box infamous. Ignore and delayed communication, which apparently occurred in this case as well. However, in a final message, Kahraman apologized for the misunderstanding, ending the exchange.

But at least we have a nice song, so nice listening, if you keep shaking your head…
