Aase Abrahamsen missing found dead

On Saturday 27 July, a dead woman was found in Finse. Now the Western police district confirms that it is Aase Abrahamsen who was found missing.

Aase Abrahamsen from Revetal outside Tønsberg was the closest for a long time disappeared without a trace.

Preliminary autopsy report confirmed

A missing person case involving Aase Abrahamsen was this week returned from the South East police district to the West police district, where he was initially held.

The head of departmental investigation in the south-eastern police area, Paal Knutsen, confirms this to Aftenposten.

– The case was forwarded to the Western police district on Monday. They are the ones who have to answer, said Knutsen on Tuesday.

A police prosecutor in the Western police district, Sven Arne Dahl-Michelsen, confirmed on Tuesday afternoon to Aftenposten that Aase Abrahamsen, who was found dead in Finse on July 27, is missing.

– That is what the preliminary autopsy report shows. We have found the cause of death. We confirm that missing people have been found, says Dahl-Michelsen.

He says there is no suspicion that anything criminal happened. Next of kin have been notified.

Found by hikers on Finse

Early information to the police revealed that Abrahamsen may have got off at Finse station. It is not known why she should be gone.

The police have stated that Abrahamsen is a DNT member and that he is able to walk in the mountains. Therefore, Hardangervidda and cottages were relevant.

Despite a great effort with searches by both the police, volunteers and the family to find the woman, no trace was made until July 27.
