Dakar, Dec 28 (APS) – The Association of Insurers of Senegal (AAS) launched, Thursday, a platform for the digitalization and dematerialization of automobile insurance certificates to allow greater transparency and diligence in the processing of files of claims, noted the APS.
”This platform will guarantee speed in the settlement of claims, as well as transparency, traceability and reliability of transactions throughout the contracting process: subscription, payment, renewal, etc.”, declared Oumou Niang Touré, president of the AAS.
To catch up with insurance companies in the area of dematerialization of procedures, ”we had to find new solutions in a context recently marked by the Covid 19 crisis, confinement and teleworking,” he said. she adds.
For the president of the ASS, “the digitalization of automobile insurance is a new contribution of the insurance sector to customer satisfaction, to the strengthening of road safety, to the security of State resources, to mobility and sustainable development.
According to her, ”the digital platform will thus generate considerable time savings for policyholders and elements of the security forces responsible for traffic during compulsory civil liability checks, as well as for insurance companies and services. of the State in charge of the sector”.
Welcoming the launch of the digitalization of automobile insurance, the Director General of Land Transport, Valdiodio Ndiaye, indicated that this discovery responds to a demand from players in the road sector.
”After the digitalization, since 2018, of the driving license and the registration document, that of insurance was missing,” he said, hoping for the ”continuation of synergies” between insurers and public authorities .
The platform was developed by the Senegalese start-up Diotali.
The official launch ceremony took place in the presence of authorities from the National Insurance Directorate, the General Directorate of Land Transport and the Defense and Security Forces.
