Aaron Rodgers’ Trade to New York Jets Agreed with First-Round Draft Picks Included

Aaron Rodgers, the Green Bay Packers quarterback and four-time NFL MVP, is set to join the New York Jets after a long-rumoured trade deal has been agreed, according to reports. The trade is said to include a first-round draft pick for this year, a second-round draft pick for this year, and a conditional first-round pick in 2024. The Jets and Packers are also swapping first-round draft picks, which will allow the Packers to move up two spots to No. 13 in this week’s draft. In addition to receiving the 15th overall pick from Green Bay, the Jets also picked up a Packers fifth-rounder.

This deal is expected to bring to a close Rodgers’ often spectacular 18-year tenure in Green Bay, where he earned 10 Pro Bowl selections and brought home the Lombardi Trophy in 2011. Jets General Manager Brian Gutekunst stated that Rodgers still has some really good football left in him and that the deal made sense for the team as they are chasing Super Bowls. With this trade, the Jets hope to solve their long-running quarterback woes and make a run at the playoffs.

Rodgers’ decision to join the Jets came after weeks of negotiations and speculation in the media. After spending a few days in February contemplating his life and playing future during an isolation retreat in Oregon, he emerged and deliberated some more before deciding in March that he intended to play again – and for the Jets. The Jets sent a contingent that included owner Woody Johnson, coach Robert Saleh, and general manager Joe Douglas to Rodgers’ home in southern California in early March.

Overall, this trade marks a significant change for both teams as they look to the future. If you’re an NFL fan looking for the latest news and updates, be sure to check out our website for more information.
