Sunday, the daily New York Post claimed the 39-year-old quarterback would be in uniform for next Saturday’s preseason game against the New York Giants.
Rodgers hasn’t played in a preseason game since the 2018 season, when he played for the Green Bay Packers. Fans therefore expected to see him in action only on September 11, for the first duel of the regular season.
“I wouldn’t mind playing a preseason game,” Rodgers said early in training camp. […] Most coaches are apprehensive about the first week and don’t want to take any risks.”
During the Jets’ first three preseason games, the veteran worked on the sidelines. At several times, we saw him providing advice or suggesting games to Zach Wilson, who got all three starts.
