LWales can’t really count on Gareth Bale on Tuesday against the Red Devils. The Real Madrid player is not physically ready to start the meeting, but he could make his entry during the game. Roberto Page, the British coach, will however be able to count on the other star of his group, who will put on the armband captain: Aaron Ramsey. The Juventus midfielder, who doesn’t play much in Italy (5 matches), scored twice on Saturday against Belarus.
On five occasions, Aaron Ramsey was able to challenge Belgium and he notably led his country to victory in the famous quarter-final of Euro 2016, but also a few months earlier in Cardiff to win the qualification, against the Devils therefore (1-0). “The matches against Belgium have always given great battles,” admits the ex-Gunner. “They have often been successful for us and I don’t hope it will be any different on Tuesday. The key to our success against Belgium was our cohesion, the fact that we played together. We were all ready to sacrifice ourselves. We know all the qualities of this team, of these players, able (s) to quickly reverse a match and create something magical on the pitch. It’s up to us to be ready for a result. “
Asked about the absence of Hazard and Courtois for this match and the fact that the Red Devils have already qualified for the 2022 World Cup, Aaron Ramsey admitted that “it could help” Wales but that there was enough quality in the Belgian group to compensate for these absences.
On a personal level, he did not want to dwell on the rumors bringing him back to the Premier League this winter.
