With two games left in the regular season, Aaron judge scored his 62nd home run by surpassing Roger Maris’ mark and setting an American League record.
The Yankees slugger, on his first beat in the Globe field, blew the fence in the duel against the Texas Rangers with a solo home run; his victim this time was the pitcher Jesús Tinoco.
The judge first exceeded 60 home runs reached by Babe Ruth in 1927, which had been the major league record until Maris broke it in 1961. All three stars hit those numbers while playing for the Yankees.
The highest record belongs to Barry Bondwho established him from the Majors, with 73 home runs for the San Francisco Giants in National Leaguein 2001.
The Yankees, with a win out of 100, close their regular season tomorrow against the Rangers and they are already waiting for a rival for the wild card round.
