Aaliyah Wagner – Nitro is in her blood

12 year old Aaliyah Wagner was infected with the RC car fever through her dad. First she was with us Stretches along the way, then the appeal came to drive an RC car yourself. For this she has optimal conditions on her home track, the Wiesbaden Minicar Club. This is one of the oldest on-road clubs. A stroke of luck for Aaliyah. She likes it fast and it has to be “loud”. So it is not surprising that she is at the start with her Serpent 989 Viper 40 Years Edition in Class 2 at VG8.

Aaliyah comes from Taubertal, is in 6th grade. She likes all subjects, but most of all math, German and French.

After first starting out with electro, Aaliyah quickly switched to 1/8. As already mentioned, she drives a Serpent Viper 989 in the 40 year edition and 1/10 electric for fun on the side. Her favorite class is VG8 class 2 and she likes it on her favorite track in Wiesbaden.

The young racing driver already has a Facebook page. Have a look at her: Aaliyah Wagner – Facebook

Thanks to Sven for speaking to Aaliyah and asking our questions. Thanks to both of you.

Mikanews: How and when did you find your way to the hobby? What was your first vehicle?

Aaliyah: I got into driving through my daddy, he has been driving for a number of years and I was often on the road with him in the past. My first vehicle was a Serpent S411 electric that I’ve been using since last year. But then I quickly switched to 1/8 combustion.

Mikanews: Last year we couldn’t do a lot of races. How did you use the free time?

Aaliyah: I trained a lot at the Wiesbaden Minicar Club to improve myself.

Mikanews: I saw you were on Facebook. You have a picture with your vehicle. Who came up with the design of the body and who painted it? Looks really good?

Aaliyah: The design came up with my daddy and the body was painted by Joko_Paints. But I also got some very nice airbrush bodies from Michael Schrumpf.

Mikanews: What do you do in winter? Do you have a vehicle for the indoor season or is there a break?

Aaliyah: If it wasn’t for Corona, I would drive my Serpent S411 in the hall. Unfortunately that doesn’t work….

Mikanews: What do your classmates say about your unusual hobby?

Aaliyah: My classmates and teachers are enthusiastic about the hobby and always want to see new pictures and videos.

Mikanews: There’s no weekend race, what are you doing instead?

Aaliyah: Then I am mostly in Wiesbaden to train in order to get better.

Mikanews: What is the attraction of RC-Car Sport for you?

Aaliyah: The particular attraction for me is the adrenaline and the kick that I get from driving fast.

Mikanews: Is there a race that you would like to take part in?

Aaliyah: I would like to take part in an ENS and the European Championship.

Mikanews: Thank you Thanks.

Aaliyah added the following:

As a sponsor, I was able to win 2-Speed for myself, I’m very happy that Jirka Hassler supports me so much. I also have Looxon with its stickers and Ielasi Tuned with motors as sponsors.

I would also like to thank my daddy, who makes this all possible. But I would also like to thank Sven Petrik, Michael Schrumpf and Dominik Schrumpf, who always support me and are always at my side with advice and action and help me to improve.
