The work will take place at the part of the highway between the N246 and the Zaandam junction. The roadway to Amsterdam will get new and quieter asphalt there. The fixed parts of the Coenbrug will also receive new asphalt in both directions.
Maintenance started on Sunday at 12:30 AM and will continue until 5:00 AM on Tuesday, August 11. The A8 remains open for traffic in both directions between the Zaandam junction and the Coenplein junction.
Traffic from Alkmaar and Beverwijk is diverted via the A9 and A5 and via N244 and the A7. Traffic from the Koog aan Zaan, Zaandijk and Zaandam area with destination Amsterdam is diverted via the N515 and N203 / S151 to the A7 and via the S150 to the A8. Exit 2 to Zaandijk is closed to all traffic for the entire period. Exit 3 to Zaanstad is closed from Sunday 12:30 am to 26 July 6:00 am.
