A woman was seriously injured on Saturday morning in a collision on the A67, on the road from the Belgian border to Eindhoven. The car she was in was hit by a truck driver near Veldhoven. He would have driven too fast.
The accident happened around a quarter past eleven. After the collision, the car in which the woman was driving collided with another car that, among other things, was carrying a baby.
Woman rushed to hospital
Several emergency services were called after the collision. An air ambulance also came to the A67.
The woman who was in the car that was hit first had to be extricated from that car by the fire service. She was rushed to a hospital in Tilburg. The other people involved were already out of their vehicles at the time, a spokesman for the fire service said.
The truck overturned after the collision and came to a stop in the driveway. Diesel leaked from the truck, according to a 112 correspondent.
detour
Due to the collision, the A67 at Veldhoven-West was completely closed. Initially, other traffic could still use the slip road, but since a quarter past twelve this is no longer possible either.
The ANWB advises people who want to drive to Eindhoven to drive via the U27. Traffic in the direction of Maastricht can best use the U48.
