Five cars collided this afternoon on the A50 between Heerde and Epe. It is not known if anyone was injured. At least one person was trapped, Rijkswaterstaat reports.
The accident happened in the tail of a traffic jam due to work on the A50. Several emergency services are present. An air ambulance has also landed. Broadcasting Gelderland writes that the fire service has helped several people to get out of their vehicles.
The cause of the accident is unknown and the police are investigating. According to a photographer at the scene, five people were injured, three of whom were taken to hospital.
From Heerde, the A50 is closed to all traffic in the direction of Apeldoorn. The ANWB expects to reopen the road around 6 p.m.
