The A27 from Gorinchem to Breda has been closed between Hank and Keizersveerbrug since Tuesday morning for seven hours after an accident in which several cars were involved. Rijkswaterstaat fears that the road will remain closed until noon, due to a police investigation.
“A van was completely destroyed at the front and there are two other damaged cars meters away,” said a passerby. “Many emergency services were present and around 7:30 am a trauma helicopter landed on the road.” A second air ambulance landed a little later.

The closure caused about twelve kilometers of traffic jam from Noordeloos around half past nine. The delay is still more than an hour.
A barrier has been erected so that traffic that has become stuck behind the accident can be safely redirected.
Also accident on A59
Other traffic was then advised to drive via Den Bosch and Waalwijk and to follow the A15, A2 and A59.
But an accident also happened on the A59 shortly afterwards, near Waalwijk. This caused significant delays in both directions. On the road from the Zonzeel junction to Den Bosch, the delay between Dussen and Waalwijk-Oost was 45 minutes. The other way you were in a traffic jam for half an hour.
Traffic has now been advised to drive via Dordrecht and to take the A15 and A16.
