Hamburg (dpa / lno) – The A1 motorway in the south-east of Hamburg will be completely closed in the direction of Lübeck at the weekend. The Autobahnmeisterei Stillhorn is rehabilitating a 7.5-kilometer section of the roadway, according to Autobahn GmbH Nord. For this purpose, the transition from the A1 in the Norderelbe triangle to the Norderelbbrücke will be completely closed from Friday evening at 7:00 p.m. to Monday morning at 5:00 a.m. The A25 will also be closed in the direction of Geesthacht, from the Hamburg-Südost triangle to the Hamburg-Allermöhe junction.
Motorists heading towards Lübeck or Berlin should switch to the B75, which runs parallel to the A1. From there you can either return to the A1 at the Norderelbe interchange and pass the construction site in one lane – or follow the A255 in the direction of Hamburg-Centrum and choose a route over the Elbe bridges to the A24 at the Horner roundabout.
Despite the end of the holidays in Schleswig-Holstein, the motorway company expects normal weekend traffic. However, train and air travelers could increasingly switch to cars because of the strike actions on Friday.
