Originally the costs for the city of Zurich were estimated at just under 40 million francs. In 2011, however, the loan had to be increased for the first time. Since then, the urban requirements for the design of the enclosure have changed.
Originally, only a basic greening and a minimal surface design were planned. Now, with additional trees and bushes as well as shady roofs, additional living areas are to be created that can also be used on hot days. A pavilion should serve as a meeting point. Additional water pipes are required for the sanitary facilities and the irrigation of the park.
The previously approved loans for the enclosure were canceled with the decision of the municipal council. The project comes to the polls again.
