A 35-year-old young woman, who was abandoned on the stairs of a block of flats in Sector 3, is now looking for her biological parents, turning to the Facebook page “The never forgotten Romanian children”. Then, she was found by tenants, who took her to Titan Maternity, where she was adopted.
“Soon it will be 35 years since I was born and was found in the stairwell of an apartment building in Bucharest. In April 1988, before sunrise, I was born, and shortly after, I was left in a block of flats in sector 3 of the capital, in the area of Diham – Piața Minis – Costin Georgian. I was found after a few hours and arrived at the Titan maternity hospital, where I was lucky enough to meet my adoptive parents. I had an extremely beautiful childhood. Now, I hope to be lucky again and have the opportunity to find and meet my biological family. Please help me fulfill my lifelong dream. Thanks in advance for your kind thoughts and help!”, is the young woman’s message.
The Facebook page “The never forgotten Romanian children” is the creation of Romanian Ileana Cunniffe Băiescu, from Buzău County, settled in Ireland, writes Adevărul.
He spent many years looking for brothers given up for adoption abroad in the 90s. He found one of his sisters eight years ago in England, but the family was not complete. For 26 years, he has been looking for his other brother, Marin Constantin Victor, given up for adoption in the summer of 1990, at the age of 3. That’s how he ended up launching in January 2015 a social media platform dedicated to those who want to know their roots.
“I took the case of a boy from Vrancea who was looking for his adopted brother in Ireland. I told him I would try to help him. Later that evening, I created “Romania’s Never Forgotten Children”, a community page on Facebook, and got involved in two more searches. The next day, one of them was successful, it was the first family we reunited. I cried and laughed with them at the same time. I felt their deepest emotions and understood their feelings of love and recovery, from all points of view. Was awesome!”, Ileana told.
