A young man survived an accident and is now looking for his rescuers who pulled him out of the burning car.
Just at Christmas, Toncho Todorov traveled from the village of Odrintsi to Dobrich.
“I went to avoid the potholes, there was one left and one right, the road is a tragedy in general. And I went to avoid them, but I lost the steering wheel and I don’t remember anything from then on. I remember only I heard a “dum” when I hit it and lost consciousness. From there I stopped in the ditch and the car caught fire at that moment. I don’t even remember how I opened the door, ” said Toncho Todorov.
Valchan and Diana witnessed the flames.
“It was something terrible. As soon as I saw him, I yelled into his car: Valio, jump, jump, go. He was just waving his arms and yelling: Help is burning, help is burning,” she recalls. Diyana Valchanova.
“The moment I stopped the car, two guys pulled up behind me. Young, handsome, fearless guys. As soon as we drove off, the car started burning like hell,” said Valchan Valchanov.
The three men manage to get Toncho to safety. After the horror of the accident, the young man with a post on social media sought his rescuers.
“There were three of them, I found one – Valchan, I found the second guy, I had to find the third, to thank him personally,” Toncho Todorov said.
Today he managed to see Valchan.
Both men are adamant that the cause of the accident was poor road condition. The API said the section hadn’t been reviewed in decades. The sidewalk was repaired in the summer, but the section is still uneven, bTV reported.
Potholes must be filled with a cold asphalt mix to ensure traffic safety during the winter months. A repair plan for next year’s section has also been worked out.
