On Wednesday a young woman was found dead, stabbed in an apartment in Ronchin, near Lille in the north. It was the victim’s father who alerted the police after her daughter’s boyfriend told him he killed her. The suspect was taken into custody, police sources said Thursday.
The man suspected of the facts is 23 years old and was arrested Wednesday evening in his apartment in Ronchin, where the victim was lying. The two young men maintained, or had maintained, a relationship, one of the police sources said.
It opens to the police, smeared with blood
According to a source close to the investigation, the 19-year-old victim had called his father indicating that he would go to his boyfriend’s house to pick up some things. Without news, her father then called her back, in vain, then contacted the young man. On the phone, the suspect had entrusted the murder of the young woman.
A police source said that when the police arrived at the scene, the suspect opened the door, smeared with blood. The young man was immediately arrested. Warned by the police, the firefighters tried to resuscitate the victim but could only confirm his death, they said.
