A 29-year-old man from the village of Pchelishte in Tarnovo beat his ex-girlfriend to death in a fight and hung herself from the rope on the porch of her house, having previously called 112 himself. The drama unfolded on the night of Sunday. The woman’s life is in danger at the Veliko Tarnovo Hospital, the police said.
The victim was a divorced teacher who bought a house in Pchelishte about a year ago. They had a short relationship with the local young man some time ago, but they broke up, according to the initial data from the investigation. For unknown reasons, around 9:30 p.m. on Saturday night, he went to his ex-girlfriend’s home. A conflict probably broke out there between the two. The man pounced on the 39-year-old woman and started hitting her with brutal cruelty. He hit her repeatedly, as a result of which she has severe fractures on the front part of the skull. The woman fainted, and he thought he had killed her. At 11:30 p.m., he himself reported the incident to 112. By the time police and emergency teams arrived at the scene, he ended his life.
The medics found the woman in a helpless state and immediately took her to the Emergency Department of the regional hospital in Tarnovo. The patient was admitted in a serious condition, was non-contact and was admitted to the neurosurgery department.
“She’s been living here for a while, I’m not even aware that she had a relationship with this boy. We have an awful lot of new owners who are not registered and I don’t even know them,” the mayor of Pchelishte Gitsa Lazarova told “24 Chasa”. As far as she knew, the victim had a grown son from a previous marriage.
The people in the village are puzzled as to what caused the aggression. Their young villager was very hardworking and had no criminal record. “A very decent boy, from a very good family, nothing bad can be said about him,” commented the locals. The suicide bomber had three brothers and two sisters and together with his one brother worked in construction.
The case is being investigated, pre-trial proceedings have been initiated under the supervision of the District Prosecutor’s Office.
