The tragic accident happened on Friday morning in K Cihelnám Street in Pilsen Černice. Only an 18-year-old girl died here after being hit by a truck. “She was walking on the right side of the road in the direction from Štěnovice to Plzeň. According to initial information, she suddenly decided to cross the road and entered the lane of a truck driven by a 1994 man,” police spokeswoman Ivana Jelínková described the collision. The driver did not have time to react.
All the rescue services went to the scene, but the pedestrian was no longer helped. The impact caused her serious injuries. “Despite all the efforts of our rescuers, the young lady succumbed to her serious injuries on the spot,” said rescue service spokeswoman Mária Svobodová.
The driver had a negative test for alcohol and drugs. “A court autopsy was ordered in the case of the deceased woman,” Jelínková added, adding that all the circumstances of the accident were still being investigated.
