The news of the accident came on Saturday afternoon, after rescuers at the Skara Sommarland amusement park found the boy lifeless in the water.
He was later transported to a hospital in Gothenburg.

Relatives have been notified of the death.
– One of our lifeguards saw a man in the water, pulled him out of the water and started cardiopulmonary resuscitation, says media manager at Skara Sommarland, Gabriella Granditsky.
Police do not suspect anything criminal related to the incident.
– It is a very sad event, and our thoughts go out to the child’s family and relatives, says Christoffer Östling, acting managing director of Skara Sommarland, in a press release.
Skara Sommarland is now warning that they will investigate what happened. They have also decided to keep the amusement park closed on Sunday.
– Our lifeguards are trained in life saving and cardiopulmonary resuscitation, and are there for the safety of our guests. Safety is the most important thing for us, says Östling.
Skara Sommarland is located about eight kilometers from Skara in Västragötaland in Sweden.
