British law enforcement on the yacht, which was stopped off the south-west coast of England, caught more than two tonnes of cocaine, the National Crime Control Agency (NCA) said in London on Saturday.
Six people on the yacht were detained – one British and five Nicaraguan.
The cargo arrived on Thursday in the luxury yacht “Kahu”, which sailed under the Jamaican flag, and sailed from the Caribbean region to the British coast.
Agency staff stopped the yacht 130 miles from Plymouth.
Cocaine is estimated to be worth £ 160 million (€ 190 million).
Men between the ages of 24 and 49 have been arrested on suspicion of drug smuggling, have been imprisoned and will be questioned, the NCA said.
NCA personnel, as well as representatives of the Australian Federal Police and the British Border Guard, took part in the operation.
“There is no doubt that the drug was intended to be sold in communities across the UK,” said NCA Deputy Director Matt Horn.
The drug seizure “will be a blow to the plans and ability of organized criminal gangs,” he added.
The yacht was intercepted after receiving information obtained during an Australian law enforcement operation, the NCA said.
