“The havoc is enormous,” said Mayor Alain Yzermans (sp.a). “The wrong-way driver has really done a lot of damage in two places.” Several people were also trapped, says the mayor, and had to be freed by the emergency services that came to the scene en masse. The medical contingency plan was also announced.
The two accidents involved a total of 8 injuries: 6 slightly injured and 2 seriously injured. No one would be in a critical condition.
