A worker fell into a container full of pigs and died in Szákszend

Three workers suffered a serious accident at the pig farm in Szakszende, one of them died – kemma.hu reported. The accident happened last week in Szákszen. The seriously injured were transported to hospital by helicopter ambulance.

According to the information in the newspaper, three men were working at the pig farm when one of them fell into a container full of pigs, the other two companions tried to help, but they left the methane gas. An investigation has been ordered into the workplace accident.

According to information from Tenyek.hu three men had to be rescued from the source of the slurry. One of them was an electrician who had gone there with his partner to repair a piece of equipment, and the third man was watching over them. The electrician fell into the tank full of diluted pork, and his partner ran to his aid. However, they passed out from the methane gas, so the supervisor tried to save them, but he also lost consciousness.

Mihály Sebestyén Varga, spokesman for the Komárom-Esztergom County Disaster Management Directorate, told Kemma.hu that the firefighting units that arrived at the scene used full respiratory protection and pulled the men out with help from a rescue rope and handed them over to the rescue service personnel.

The National Ambulance Service confirmed that an ambulance and rescue helicopter were called to the scene.

Despite resuscitation efforts, one person died on the spot, two more were transported to hospital in a life-threatening condition by our comrades after stabilization

In response to Kemma.hu’s question, the county police headquarters said that the police had initiated criminal proceedings against an unknown perpetrator due to a reckless risk made in the context of a profession that cause death.
