A worker dies on the Grand Paris Express construction site


A 41-year-old worker died on Tuesday, December 22 on the construction site of the metro line 16 of the Grand Paris Express in La Courneuve (Seine-Saint-Denis), after a fall into a grinding tank located 30 meters deep, we learned Thursday from the Bobigny prosecutor’s office. “An investigation is currently carried out by the police station of La Courneuve, of the count of manslaughter in the context of work”, said this source.

The victim was an employee of the Eiffage construction company. The French group “Is extremely affected by the death of one of his companions and stands alongside the family and all the teams from the sites concerned to support them”, said a spokesperson for Eiffage. This is the first death of a companion on the Grand Paris Express site, the Société du Grand Paris reported.
