A woman who flew 27m in’Drug Run’… I was charged with drug driving.

YTN capture

– In Chuncheon, a woman in her twenties was hit by a van while crossing a pedestrian crossing lit by a pedestrian signal. The driver who had the accident tested positive for the drug and confessed that he had taken methamphetamine. However, charges of driving dangerously caused by drugs were excluded from drivers before trial.

According to the Chuncheon Police Station, the accident occurred on the outskirts of Chuncheon at 7:40 pm on the evening of December 21 last year.

To get on the bus on the way home from work, A, a woman in her twenties, checked that the green light was on and crossed the crosswalk. At this time, a van that ran like a rush hit him. Mr. A quickly disappeared from the CCTV screen. It flew 27m due to the impact of the accident. Mr. A, who suffered severe brain injury, died.

The perpetrator is Mr. B, 53 years old, who works in the driving industry. He was unlicensed and stated that he had an accident while looking at his cell phone. It also claimed that the victim had made a trespass. But it wasn’t true.

Moreover, Mr. B showed a strange appearance during the police investigation. According to the police, he fell asleep as if he was drunk and repeated abnormal behaviors such as yelling.

But it wasn’t drunk driving. So, the drug test that was conducted was positive. Mr. B confided that he had taken methamphetamine and was arrested.

In general, driving with drugs or drugs such as methamphetamine is charged with dangerous driving under the Special Act. The police applied this charge and sent Jang to the prosecution.

However, after the prosecution’s investigation, Jang was handed over to trial only for violating the Act on Special Traffic Accidents and taking methamphetamine.

It was because of the time of dosing. Mr. B stated that he had taken methamphetamine on December 15, one week before the accident, during a police investigation. He confirmed that he was using drugs, but found no evidence that he was driving under drugs at the moment of the accident. Whether or not to take the drug is revealed by investigation with urine, body hair, blood, etc., but the timing of administration depends entirely on the statement of the suspect. Because of this, the suspicion of dangerous driving caused by drugs to Mr. B was dropped.

Mr. A’s bereaved family filed a petition demanding severe punishment for Mr. B. Mr. B’s first trial will be held in the middle of this month.
