Officials of the Municipal Police of Tomás Lander, in the Valles del Tuy, Miranda state, arrested a woman this Thursday who tried to murder her three children in the Mata de Coco urbanization.
The woman gave juice with poison to the children of eight, three and two years of age, who had to be admitted urgently to the Hospital “Simón Bolívar” in the Valles del Tuy, after neighbors transferred them. There, the doctor on duty certified that they had ingested citrus juice mixed with a toxic substance.

According to the El Cooperante website, the director of the police force, Ronny Romero, identified the mother as Deivis María Gil Rivas, 25, who is currently detained and placed under the order of the Public Ministry.
The woman also ingested the drink, presumably after having argued with her partner, so she and the three children underwent a stomach lavage and intravenous treatment.
On instructions from the Council for the Protection of Children and Adolescents (Cpnna) of the Lander municipality, the minors were left under the protection of an aunt.
