A woman was killed Saturday morning by stabbing at her home in Aubervilliers in Seine-Saint-Denis. Her husband was arrested and their children taken into care.
“The man allegedly killed his wife with a knife. Four children were taken into care”, said the Bobigny prosecutor’s office on Saturday. The children, the oldest of whom is 14, were present at the home at the time of the tragedy, which occurred shortly after 7 a.m.
According to a police source, the man slaughtered his wife in front of the children before calling the police himself, who arrested him. “From the first elements that we have, we had no particular alert on this couple”, added another police source.
The investigation was entrusted to the judicial police of Seine-Saint-Denis.
102 women lost their lives in 2020 in France under the blows of their spouse or ex-spouse, a figure at the lowest since the establishment of statistics 15 years ago. Feminicides are the final stage of violence suffered by more than 200,000 women per year.
