A woman is said to have tried to kill her husband with plant poison

According to the indictment, the woman tried to kill her then spouse several times in the period June 2019 to 28 May 2020. According to prosecutor Eli Reberg Nessimo, she tried to seduce the man to eat and / or drink plant poison. The man was admitted to hospital 11 times, of which twice with cardiac arrest.

According to the indictment, each admission was treated urgently, and each time hospital staff managed to treat and rescue the man.

The poison is found in Tyrihjelm

The toxin akonitin was detected in a blood sample and a urine sample from her husband, the prosecutor informed the court, and during the introductory lecture she refers to research that says that aconitine is a very toxic plant substance found in the plant species Tyrihjelm.

Aconitin poisoning is often fatal, the prosecutor pointed out in court.

The accused woman did not plead guilty in Trøndelag District Court on Tuesday morning. She also did not plead guilty to the charge of gross fraud.

She is said to have taken out credit loans from eight different credit institutions / banks for a total of NOK 1,170,000. In the husband’s name.

Charged with poisoning the son

In 2015, the woman was also charged with poisoning their common son. But this case was dropped due to lack of evidence, prosecutor Reberg Nessimo said in court on Tuesday.

In court, audio logs from AMK were played. Here one hears the accused woman tell that she does not get in touch with her husband. A very dramatic conversation where you hear AMK gives advice on first aid.

She describes the man’s seizures as “in and out of consciousness and that he vomits”. In the epicrisis from St. Olav’s hospital, the man talks about “tingling and trembling in the tongue and lower jaw”.

The prosecutor went through the symptoms in his introductory speech, nausea, vomiting, dizziness and loss of consciousness recurred.

The accused and the offended in the case are now separated. The former husband (53) sat as a member during the first day of the court together with his assistance lawyer. While the AMK talks were being played, he cried. And eventually left the courtroom.

In his explanation, he told about the different cases of poisoning, the first in 2019, and where he woke up when he was on his way into the air ambulance. In the end, there were so many admissions that he had problems separating the different ones.

The case is ongoing for seven days in Trøndelag District Court in Trondheim. On Wednesday, the accused woman will explain herself.
