An 88-year-old woman from Plovdiv was burned in her bed. The woman wrapped herself in an electric blanket in her 15th-floor apartment on a block off Maritsa Blvd.
While he was sleeping, however, the blanket caught fire. The elderly woman was burned and suffocated. Shortly after 11, social workers arrived at her address to bring her food. They smelled smoke, were afraid something had happened and called 112. The firefighters who arrived on the spot only found the lifeless body of the motionless pensioner, wearing a thread solution. They acted quickly and managed to save the apartment. The fire destroyed furniture and household items.
The pensioner lived alone and had no one to take care of her. This is how the tragedy that killed her happened. More recently, there was another huge fire in Plovdiv, caused by an electric blanket. However, the incident ended with a happy ending after a young woman managed to escape. However, her apartment was completely destroyed.
