A woman hit and killed by a train in the Loire

The 50-year-old died after being run over shortly after 7pm, minutes after getting off a train as she crossed the tracks on a pedestrian crossing to reach the station car park, the gendarmerie said.

The speed of the train at the time of the collision was between 70 and 80 km/h, the same source said, adding that an investigation had been opened to determine the precise circumstances of the accident.
