A 63-year-old man was in police custody this Wednesday, after the discovery of the lifeless body of his wife, Tuesday in Montmorillon, in Vienne. The couple were in the process of divorce and had been living apart for a year.
The body of the 59-year-old woman was found in her home Tuesday morning, report The New Republic. She was lying in her bed, her body covered with soot and partially burned. In the pavilion, investigators also detected several starting fires and several elements of the home had melted due to the intense heat.

It was the veterinary office, where the victim worked as a secretary, which warned the gendarmes when she had not shown up for work on Tuesday morning.
The privileged criminal hypothesis
“The findings and investigations are oriented towards a criminal hypothesis, implicating the spouse of the victim”, said the prosecutor of the Republic of Poitiers in a press release relayed by The New Republic.
A homicide investigation was opened and entrusted to the gendarmes. It was in this context that the victim’s husband was taken into police custody. It is currently still heard. An autopsy of the woman is also due to take place in the next few days.
