An oversight with heavy consequences. Friday evening, a bag was forgotten in a bus of the urban network of Nîmes, Tango. The driver of the vehicle then dropped it off at one of the company’s depots, says the Free noon. The next day, last Saturday, officials then came to collect the lost items from the previous day to try to identify the owners.
There, stupor, one of the bags contains 40,000 euros in small denominations. Thanks to a customs document, the identity of the owner of this large sum was quickly identified and verified. The latter was in the name of a woman of foreign origin. The loot has since been entrusted to the police station.
After this incident, Nasser Mohamedi, CFDT union delegate at Transdev Nîmes Mobilités, recalled that a “significant number of objects forgotten on the buses” were found every day. “The drivers then deposit these lost items in a room at the depot so that the owners can recover them”, he explains. “I can say one thing: Tango buses are as safe as the Banque de France “, he jokes.
