FAJAR.CO.ID, JAKARTA — A 44 year old woman with the initials HY died after being hit by a train at the Pasar Pesing crossing, North Kedoya, Kebon Jeruk, West Jakarta on Friday at around 19.30 WIB.
According to the head of the local RT, Karno, HY was a coffee seller around the train crossing area and at the time of the incident, he was crossing the tracks.
“Activities are still running (across the tracks), but usually selling coffee at the red light (near the TKP) there, in the park,” said Karno at the location, Friday (8/12/2023).
When HY crossed the train tracks, Karno said that perhaps the victim did not hear the sound of the train passing.
“So maybe he didn’t hear or something, didn’t know what happened. There was a train passing by, he was just hit,” added Karno.
Hasan, another resident at the location, explained that the train was passing from Soekarno-Hatta Airport to Tangerang.
“The train came from Soekarno-Hatta Airport to Tangerang,” said Hasan.
Meanwhile, Kebon Jeruk Police Chief, Kompol Sutrisno, stated that his party had arrived at the scene of the incident.
“Our members are already at the location, this accident is being handled by the Kebon Jeruk Police Traffic Accident Unit,” said Sutrisno. (ant)
