Stan Warwrinka (WTA 100) did not fail in Indian Wells`! The Vaudois victoriously passed the milestone of the first round thanks to his victory 6-4 1-6 6-1 in front of Alexsandar Vukic (ATP 186).
Facing the Australian qualifier, Stan Wawrinka was able to regain control immediately after the loss of the second set. He thus signed the break to lead 2-0 and to sign his first victory in the Californian desert for four years. It should be noted that he was a finalist for this first Masters 1000 of the year in 2017 against Roger Federer.
Stan Wawrinka will face in the second round Miomir Kecmanovic (ATP 31) whom he will meet for the first time. Quarter-finalist last year in Indian Wells, the 23-year-old Serb was a finalist this year in Delray Beach. But nothing says that Stan Wawrinka will not have his chance on Saturday against the Belgrade player.
