“A win for the sports town of Bruchköbel”

Bruchköbel – Official hall inauguration, start of the season, awards for deserving and long-standing members as well as the award ceremony for club and national champions in the various age groups – all this attracted the members of TC Bruchköbel and many guests in droves to the facility in the forest on Saturday.

The focus, however, was the official handover of the three-field tennis hall project, which cost almost two million euros. “The most modern and probably the most beautiful hall in the region”, as TCB chairman Stefan Oßwald said. Because the steel hall, equipped with the latest lighting and heating technology, energy-saving wall panels, sound-absorbing wall mats and a Proflex Hardcourt surface that is easy on the joints, on which world stars also play on their professional tour, is a milestone in the history of the 53-year-old club. The head of the club is also aware of this, who spoke of a “successful project” that had been planned for a long time and that would not have been possible without the help of many people who were well-disposed towards the TCB.

Skilled and hardworking team

After the property issue had been settled with the city and the handball and soccer departments of SG Bruchköbel, it was down to the financial support of the state, district and the lending VR Bank Man-Kinzig-Büdingen, which supported the business plan and ultimately gave the green light to the construction of the hall.

But politicians in the person of Mayor Sylvia Braun, the magistrate and all parties in the city council as well as those responsible at the district building and sports department also supported the project from the start. And without a committed, expert and extremely hard-working team from the ranks of the members, this “extremely satisfactory result” would not have come about, emphasized Oßwald.

There was support from the Main-Kinzig sports district, the Hessian tennis association, the Offenbach tennis district and the surrounding tennis clubs. The companies involved in the construction made a significant contribution to the fact that the “Odenwaeller Tennispark” remained within the given time and budget framework.

The first balls were hit on December 1st

“At the end of May 2021, the groundbreaking ceremony took place and on December 1st the first balls were hit in the hall,” said Stefan Osswald, pleased about the short construction time of the hall, “which has been very well received by the members and foreign tennis players,” he said Chairman before he cut the obligatory ribbon with fellow campaigners and thus officially inaugurated the new tennis hall.

Bruchköbel’s mayor Sylvia Braun (FDP), on behalf of all supporters who received gifts from the association, not only praised Stefan Oßwald’s personal commitment, but also the foresight of those responsible and ultimately also the members of the TCB to tackle such a “project of the century”. . “The hall is a win for the TC and the sports city of Bruchköbel,” emphasized Braun, who was now standing in front of the finished hall, in which the first youth tournament had already been played. “Especially for youth work, the TCB has taken a big step into the future with the hall, created an attraction for talented players,” said the head of town hall.

And she still had a treat up her sleeve: “When the Kinzigheimer Weg is soon in shape and the parking situation is improved, the users will be able to get to the new tennis hall very comfortably.” (By Thomas Seifert)
