A well-known lawyer is interned in Putaendo’s psychiatric hospital after trying to hang his partner – Diario El Observador

Cristián Rosselot became known after a 2019 video where he threatened workers in a supermarket in Pirque

SAN FELIPE.- The lawyer Cristián Rosselot was temporarily admitted to a psychiatric hospital of Putaendo, waiting for the reports that determine whether or not it is imputable before the Justice, after a series of crimes that ended with the alleged attempt to hang his partner in the commune of San Felipe.

Rosselot was formalized by two crimes of threat in the context of intrafamily violence (VIF), one crime of serious injuries and two, of less serious injuries. In addition, he was arrested for frustrated femicide, because he would have tried to hang his partner, although the Prosecutor’s Office only formalized the other five records of injuries.

In that sense, the Public Ministry requested preventive detention for the accused, considering it a danger to society and the victim, however, from the defense they requested the suspension of the procedure, since they insisted that the lawyer was in a state of “mental derangement” at the time of committing the crimes, for which he was admitted to a psychiatric institution.

The man has a varied police record and some causes dismissed, such as the alleged assault on a butler in a building where he lived in Las Condes, driving while intoxicated, assault on a gendarme, domestic violence, among others.

Rosselot became known on social networks the year 2019 when a video went viral where he threatened workers at a supermarket in Pirque, whom he also offended by appealing to classist treatment, his defense argued that his actions were generated in a state of “mental derangement.”
