The town festivals are the best plan for summer days in Burgos. And Santa María del Campo wanted to give a touch of solidarity to the beginning of its festivities. A bus that will arrive from Valladolid will be located in the town so that all the neighbours of the surrounding area can donate blood.
And to give more weight to the action, at the time of donation, donors will be entered into a draw for a weekend in a motorhome. Before helping with this initiative, two factors must be taken into account. The first of these is that you must be under 65 years of age to donate; the second is that you must not have donated blood in the last three months if you are a man and in the last two months if you are a woman.
The event is organised by the Santa María del Campo Town Council, the RAGCE delegation in Burgos, in collaboration with the “La Cuadrilla” Association and the municipal swimming pools in the town, Mobilrent Autocaravanas, the Brotherhood of Blood Donors of Burgos and the Hemotherapy and Blood Donation Centre of the Junta de Castilla y León.
These organisations are asking for the collaboration and support of all residents of the town and neighbouring villages to come to the swimming pool car park on 7 August from 4:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., where the mobile unit will be parked.
Raffle, motorhome weekend
During the donation process, the names of newly created and veteran voluntary donors will be noted so that they can be entered into a draw, which will be held on the pool terrace once the donation has been completed.
The prize is awarded by the company MobilRent, the rental, sales and workshop for motorhomes. After finding out who won the prize, the winner will discuss the conditions personally with the company.
This is the first time that the Santa María del Campo City Council has promoted an initiative of this magnitude, but the aim is for it not to be the last and for it to serve as an example for everyone.
