/ world today news/ With a screening of Angel Wagenstein’s documentary triptych “State of the Spirit” on Saturday at the “Kamchia” sanatorium-rehabilitation complex, a panorama of the films of the world-famous screenwriter, writer, anti-fascist began.
For a week, students, citizens, and guests of the complex have the opportunity to see significant plays and documentaries by Angel Wagenstein, including “Supplement to the ZZD”, “Stars in the Hair, Tears in the Eyes”, “Wings over Bulgaria” and, of course se, “Stars” – awarded with 12 highest international film awards. The series also includes the documentary film about the life and work of Wagenstein himself – “Art is a weapon” by the American director Andrea Simon, which was a great success in New York and Sofia.
At the opening of the panorama, Angel Wagenstein told how the film “State of the Spirit” was conceived, shown at the time by 9 German TV stations. “Just as Orthodoxy has three foundations – Nativity, Good Friday and Resurrection, so the Bulgarian state has its triptych – Nativity, Good Friday (Turkish slavery) and Resurrection (Bulgarian national revival),” said Wagenstein. “The main message of this film, as well as of “Boris I”, is that before Orthodoxy and writing, Bulgaria was strong and great, but it was not immortal; it becomes immortal with faith and Cyrillic letters,” said DUMA journalist Velislava Trees.
Those gathered honored the memory of the great artist and Bulgarian Svetlin Rusev, who died on Saturday. He was a zealous initiator of the construction of a monument to the children, victims of fascism, now we will have to continue the implementation of the idea without him, Dureva said.
Within the framework of the panorama, a creative meeting of Wagenstein will take place today with students from the private secondary school “Yu. Gagarin” in SOK “Kamchia”, as well as a meeting with the public of Varna in the Plenary Hall of the municipality from 6 p.m.
