Jakarta (ANTARA) – Several events related to the political field were reported by ANTARA News Agency last week, starting with Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka officially opening the Lapor Mas service Vice President to Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto meets with US President Joe Biden at the White House.

1. Vice President Gibran opened public protests through the palace and WhatsApp
Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka opened a public complaint channel that can be accessed directly by visiting the Vice Presidential Palace or via WhatsApp message, starting Monday (11/11).
The service, called Lapor Mas Wapres, was announced to the public through the Instagram account @gibran_rakabuming which was uploaded on Sunday (10/11).

2. The Governor of South Kalimantan appeared to the public after he “disappeared” after the KPK OTT
South Kalimantan Governor Sahbirin Noor or Uncle Birin publicly appeared leading a workers’ rally after he “disappeared” after the Indonesian Anti-Corruption Commission conducted a sting operation (OTT).
Sahbirin Noor was seen in official clothes to lead a rally for the state civil apparatus (ASN) in the courtyard of the South Kalimantan Governor’s Office, Banjarbaru Town, on Monday (11/11).

3. The Palace explains the conditions for the President to be allowed to participate in regional election political campaigns
The Head of the Presidential Communications Office, Hasan Nasbi, explained the provisions that allow President Prabowo Subianto to take part in political campaign activities, in this case related to regional head elections, while’ and that he does not use state resources during the implementation.
“The President and state officials may participate in the campaign, as long as they do not misuse the resources of their position for campaigning, or campaign on working days without sending in for leave,” said Hasan Nasbi in a written message received in Jakarta, Sunday. 10/11).

4. The Ministry of Home Affairs has issued an SE to suspend social assistance ahead of the 2024 regional elections
The Ministry of the Interior (Kemendagri) has issued a circular (SE) to regional governments governing the cancellation of the distribution of social assistance (bansos) from the Regional Revenue and Expenditure Budget (APBD) on beginning of Pilkada at the same time 2024.
Deputy Minister of Home Affairs Bima Arya Sugiarto, when he met with the media team at the Indonesian KPU Office, Jakarta, on Wednesday (13/11), confirmed that this regulation is excluded for areas with major disasters, such as East Nusa Tenggara Province (NTT).

5. Prabowo met with Biden at the White House to discuss RI-US diplomatic relations
The President of Indonesia Prabowo Subianto met with the President of the United States Joe Biden at the White House, Tuesday evening (12/11) local evening, as part of a state visit to the USA.
During the meeting, President Prabowo was greeted directly by President Joe Biden and the two discussed the strong diplomatic relations between Indonesia and the US.
