This was revealed by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in his latest tweet.
“The devastation caused massive blackouts across the country,” he said in a tweet posted on Tuesday morning (10/18/2022).
He concluded that “there was no more room for negotiations” with the government of Russian President Vladimir Putin.

Putin announced a change in military operations in Ukraine on Monday, soon after Russian troops launched a massive long-range missile strike across Ukraine.
He accused Kiev of devising several “terrorist attacks” against major Russian infrastructure in recent months, including the attack on the Crimean bridge.
The Russian president said Kiev’s tactics warrant a similar response, as he insisted that Moscow now considers Ukraine’s energy infrastructure a legitimate target for military attacks.

A few days earlier, a large explosion on a bridge connecting Crimea to mainland Russia killed three civilians and caused significant damage to the road section of the bridge.
