If the week was marked by an incipient and persistent mobilization in secondary schools, it was also marked by acts of vandalism and damage of all kinds in several of these establishments. To the chagrin of the Rectorate which strongly condemns these acts
The latest facts took place last night, in particular at the Saint-John Perse college in Les Abymes where a building was partially set on fire and a college vehicle was vandalized, but also at the Florette Morand college in Morne-à-l’eau with large projections of used engine oil and at the Coeffin high school in Baie-Mahault where projectiles were thrown at the entrance doors.
For the rector who does not understand the real motives of such acts, “
No reason for discontent can explain such violence and such degradation.
Christine Gangloff-Ziegler, Rector of the Academy
Establishments where there are malicious acts, blockages and damage with waste oil, rubbish, burned public equipment which, according to the rector, cause them to suffer significant damage. A gendarmerie investigation is underway to identify and prosecute the perpetrators of these crimes.
This Friday being the last day of class before the carnival holidays, it is also a day when the pupils already feel on vacation. Perhaps therefore the beginning of a return to calm in all the establishments of the Archipelago.
