A week has passed, the death toll from the Turkey-Syria earthquake has reached 36,000 people

The number of victims who died as a result earthquake of magnitude 7.8 that rocked the region Turki south and region Syria the northern part reported increasing again. So far, more than 36,000 people have been confirmed dead as a result of the strong earthquake that rocked last week.

As reported CNN, Tuesday (14/2/2023), an earthquake with a magnitude of 7.8 rocked on Monday (6/2) last week and the death toll was reported to be increasing every day. Many houses and residential buildings were destroyed by the earthquake.

The latest data from the Turkish and Syrian authorities put it at least 36,217 people were killed by the strong earthquake.

Specifically, the latest data from the Turkish Emergency Coordination Center SAKOM reports that at least 31,643 people died as a result of the earthquake in Turkey.

Tens of thousands of other people were reported injured in the earthquake. However, the Turkish Ministry of Health report said that around 19,300 injured victims are still undergoing medical treatment at local hospitals.

The number of injured victims being treated at the hospital included 3,636 people being treated in the intensive care unit (ICU) and as many as 8,851 others who had to undergo surgery due to the wounds and injuries they experienced.

The condition of the injured victims was not further explained. However, a number of injured victims were reported to have been discharged from the hospital.
